Meet the Captains

Peter Jackson

Hi, my name is Peter. I've been riding my road bike in Dubai for about five years now, and it's been an incredible journey.

Let me share some fun facts about my cycling adventures:

- I ride a Specialized Tarmac SL7 SRAM, and I absolutely love it. The bike's performance and comfort are unmatched, making every ride a pleasure.
- For about a year now, I've been riding with a fantastic group called Cycology. The camaraderie and shared passion for cycling make every outing special.
- I also ride with another group called Cafe Peloton, as well as any other group that welcomes me. The diversity of riders and experiences keeps things exciting.
- I was fortunate to be in Florence for the start of the Tour de France in 2024. It was an amazing experience, witnessing such a prestigious event firsthand.
- I've completed the UAE Coast to Coast ride five times, which is always a challenging but rewarding adventure.
- Cycling, for me, is about staying fit, enjoying the freedom of the open road, embracing the challenges, and simply having fun.
- I might just be the oldest member of the Cycology Team, but age is just a number when you're passionate about what you do!

The best thing about being part of the Cycology Team is the commitment we all share. Whether it's a challenging ride or a casual cruise, everyone shows up ready to enjoy the ride. The camaraderie within the team is fantastic. You can hear our chatting and laughter echoing on the track, creating a joyful atmosphere. We always look out for each other, ensuring that everyone has a great time and stays safe.

I've been living in Dubai for nearly 20 years, and I've witnessed the city's remarkable growth firsthand. The cycling community has expanded significantly, with countless kilometers of tracks to explore. It's exciting to see more people embracing cycling, and the infrastructure supporting it continues to improve.

As the captain of the Cycology Team, my primary responsibility is to share pre-ride briefings. These briefings ensure that we all have a safe and enjoyable ride. After each ride, we often gather for a well-deserved drink and a debriefing session. It's a great opportunity to discuss how the ride went and what we can improve for next time, further strengthening our bond as a team.
